I was out with friends enjoying a quiet drink the week before Christmas. I was standing near the bar when I was struck from behind. I fell to the floor unconscious whilst losing a lot of blood from the wound to my head. Staff as well as members of the public called the police and an ambulance and I was rushed to hospital. I was unable to make a statement to the police due to the severity of my injuries but CCTV proved it to be an unprovoked attack.
As a result of the permanent damage done to me in the attack I am now unable to work and will be dependent on Disability Benefits. However, as I was unemployed at the time of the attack I haven’t actually sustained any additional financial losses because of this.
