CICA jaw injury compensation calculator

What type of jaw injuries can I claim compensation for?

Our CICA jaw injury compensation calculator has been designed to give you an estimate of how much compensation you may be able to claim. Claims can be made for permanent clicking jaws, continuing discomfort with dislocated jaws and fractured jaws whether it required an operation or not.

How should I use the CICA jaw injury compensation calculator?

Select the jaw injury option below. You will then be asked what the specific type of jaw injury was. Then you will be given a compensation amount or asked for the severity of the jaw injury before the compensation value is given. Our CICA jaw injury compensation calculator will show you how much compensation you are entitled to for all jaw injuries covered under the CICA scheme.

Can I claim for more than one criminal injury?

Yes, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Schemes of 2008 and 2012 will allow you to claim for up to three separate types of physical injuries. For those who are unfortunate enough to have suffered more than one physical injury as the result of an assault, you may find our more comprehensive CICA tariff calculator better to use. This CICA calculator can combine multiple injuries and apply the correct level of compensation. This is necessary because the CICA only awards full compensation on the most serious injury. The next most serious injury it pays 30% of the normal tariff compensation. The third or least serious injury it awards 15% of the criminal injuries compensation and any other physical injuries are not eligible.

Here’s an example of how compensation would be paid for multiple criminal injuries

If three injuries were suffered as a result of an unprovoked attack during a robbery. A dislocated jaw with continuing significant difficulty. Broken front teeth requiring crowns and a dislocated elbow with substantial recovery. The injury with the highest award of compensation is the dislocated jaw which has a CICA compensation award of £3,500 the elbow is £1,500 and the teeth is £1,000.
Jaw £3,500 @ 100% compensation = £3,500
Elbow £1,500 @ 30% compensation = £450
Teeth £1,000 @ 15% compensation = £150
Total compensation £4,100

Can I claim for psychological injury as well as physical injury?
